See ya, Bumbo!

See ya, Bumbo seat. I'm moving on to bigger and better.

It can't be true! We were warned that time flies extra fast with the second baby and they sure were right. At 5 1/2 months, our little Caroline is sitting up! Granted, she's still wobbly and is prone to tipping over the moment she gets distracted with something......or when her sister pushes her over ( Ella is not fond of the new attention her little sister is receiving over her latest accomplishment. Sigh.), but we've even seen her grow stronger in one day of practicing. It's almost like she was capable of sitting up earlier than we prompted her to. But Caroline seems pretty proud of herself and is most likely appreciating the new view on life from her sitting position. And not that we want her to get any older, but we've been looking forward to this moment so that she and Ella can interact a little easier, too. Needless to say, she's still a total doll but hope that she doesn't start crawling anytime soon....we'll have to wipe the dust off the baby gates and get ready for the next phase!

Caroline's first day of sitting up, 2/15/10. We were getting ready for bed and Erika thought she'd "test" Caroline's strength....and to her surprise, voila! Caroline sits up! She looks about as surprised as we were!

The next day, practicing and gaining strength

Probably thinking - Mom! Enough with the pictures already!

Taking a happy break, good thing this pillow was here! Sitting up is tough work!

Back at it....boy, this blue elephant sure is interesting....

Little Cupids

Happy Valentine's Day!

With two little ones, it's a little hard to be completely romantic for Valentine's Day but with two little cupids in our lives now, there's definitely more love in our family than we've ever had! Valentine's Day was relaxing and family oriented; after afternoon naps, we headed to the Town Center and treated Ella to her first cup of Starbuck's hot chocolate. Needless to say, that was an huge hit! It was cute to have her sitting at the table with us while we sipped our own drinks. Little Caroline decided to take a catnap during the coffee break...maybe next year little C! Also, we're trying to get Ella potty trained (let the saga continue!) but she did recognize the bathroom in Starbucks and told us she had to use the potty! Yeah! But of course assisting a toddler in a public restroom isn't exactly the best thing in the world...especially when Ella refused to sit on the toilet with the paper cover. Take trust in knowing that Erika pleaded for the paper but she would have none of it. Gulp. Guess there are worse things???
In any event, we've got two little Valentine's this year and after an early dinner for both, Tim and Erika enjoyed our favorite bottle of wine coupled with a yummy salmon dinner...this time, just the two of us!

Who's Who?

So while Caroline is definitely starting to take on her own little personality and looks, there are times when she looks just like Ella did at her age. The resemblance is uncanny; it's almost like having twins with one arriving two years later. So judge for yourself; some comparison's are easy while others might make you reconsider....Who's who?!?!?

All bundled up....

Two sleeping beauties....

We love these Paris hats......

And these little brown knit outfits keep us so warm.......

We both love bath time......
